If I were POTUS, I would work for campaign finance reform. Money makes too great a difference in election outcome, even considering a minimum of just exposure. The playing field needs to be leveled so that we see all candidates equally and can truly make our selection based on this.
One idea is to limit campaign contributions to $1000 and only allow contributions from individuals. No business, lobby, or other organization would be allowed to contribute funds or services.
Or maybe there are no contributions at all, and there is a government fund at the level appropriate to office. Candidates who collect enough signatures on a petition for their candidacy get to share in the pool for the position equally.
