The Presidency is not about the President. It is a job about the people. It is a job that is part of the US government. It is important for democracy that it is treated as one of three balanced branches of the US government.
If I were POTUS, I would not overstep or try to change what I can get away with, what I can influence, what I can control, because that is really not how the system is designed. It is really meant to be a balanced piece of taking care of the citizens of the USA and being a good neighbor on this planet. That includes nothing that smacks of personal benefit, not long term or short term, except the unintentional ones directly linked to having had the job, like speaking at events. Not where I favor certain legislation where I will have a job waiting for me or any kind of bullshit like that, because that is not a balanced approach, holistic approach to taking care of the country. That is a personal, private focus and will favor someone over someone else and that is unacceptable to me. It means not overstepping boundaries of the triumvirate. I have to make sure to stand for POTUS part of the balance to ensure it does not get subsumed. If I were POTUS, I would not be trying to personally influence the other two branches based on being POTUS or to try to change the balance of power. If I have a logically sound justification for something that is worthy of consideration, it would have to be valid on its own whether presented by any citizen on the street or me. That is acceptable and that is appropriate. I will not try to push something based on the Presidency. That is not appropriate and should not happen.
