If I were a POTUS candidate, I would not mud-sling. Our candidates spend so much time talking about what is wrong with other candidates. What I want to hear from a candidate is why the candidate is qualified for the position, what the candidate has to offer the position, and what the candidate has to offer me as a citizen.
Mud-slinging is always slanted. A candidate does not offer a balanced picture of another candidate. He or she finds something that sounds bad about the other candidate and highlights that, at times even when it is not true. It is our job as citizens to find out what candidates have to offer and why they are not qualified for the job, and why they are an inappropriate choice, not the right choice, or not best choice for us. In addition, a candidate discussing the qualifications of the competition is definitely subject to a conflict of interest and almost certainly providing an unbalanced view of the competition. We should not be listening to that.
